If you’ve already gone private, there are a few things you should do now. Here are some tips:

Delete old tweets

There are many reasons to delete old tweets when Twitter goes private. In the past, this might have been a temporary measure for avoiding embarrassment. It might have also been a precautionary measure to prevent a potential employer from learning about your past tweets. In today’s world, social media accounts are basically LinkedIns, and companies can use them to keep tabs on employees. In other words, your past tweets may contain personal information that could make you look less than trustworthy.

Another reason to delete old tweets is if you think they are regrettable. Sometimes, you might delete tweets because you’ve discovered a broken link or something that you didn’t intend to share. Regardless, it’s easier than ever to find these tweets by scrolling back through your timeline and finding the one you want to delete. But how do you do this when Twitter goes private? Here’s how.

Untag yourself from past conversations

Twitter is testing a new feature that lets you untag yourself from past conversations. The new feature will allow you to prevent mentions of yourself in conversations, but it’s only available to those who are following you. The person you’re mentioning won’t know that you’ve untagged yourself, so they won’t be notified that you’ve untagged yourself. In the future, users will also be able to limit which accounts are able to mention them in tweets.

In the meantime, you can mute the conversation. When a conversation has gone private, it removes your mention and the link to your profile. This way, others won’t be able to see your content or read your profile. It’s worth noting that muting the conversation won’t remove it, but it does stop other people from clicking through and viewing your tweets.

Unprotect your tweets

Once you’ve changed your mind about how you want your Twitter posts to appear, you can easily reverse this privacy setting. Just click the More option on the left menu panel to open the drop-down menu. Then, click on Unprotect your Tweets. This will make all of your protected Tweets public and visible to anyone on the Internet. You can also see who has retweeted and liked your tweets by unprotecting them.

To unprotect your tweets, you must log into your Twitter account with a password. Click on the “Settings” tab and then on the “Account” tab. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Unprotect Your Tweets.” Here, you must also check whether you want to allow new followers or block them. Once you do this, your tweets will become public and you can start following new users.

Approve follower requests on a private twitter account

If you want to add new followers to your Twitter profile, you must first approve them. You can see the pending follower requests in the Follower Requests tab of your private Twitter account. To approve them, click on the three dots next to the profile photo on your laptop or mobile device. To approve a follower, tap on the “Approve Follower Requests” link. This will bring you to your follower request page.

After approving new follower requests, you can view them individually. If you don’t want new followers, you can also block other users. To block other users from following you, click the “Block” button. Once you see the list, click the button next to the request. You will receive a notification on your phone and your computer. Ensure that you accept the follower request.

What to Do When Twitter Goes Private The next step in taking your Twitter account private is to delist it from the New York Stock Exchange.
