Her mother, Polly Flores, said she had always thought of her daughter as sweet, loved nature, unicorns, and purple, and was a &#8220;loyal&#8221; teacher to her students.<\/p>\n<p>Her mother, Mata Lopez, was not a member of the school board, but she was a teacher and her niece&#8217;s teacher. The young killer also claimed responsibility for the death of Xavier Javier Lopez, a 10-year-old who was with Lopez at the awards ceremony. Her nephew&#8217;s family and friends were devastated by the tragedy, and the young mother&#8217;s death.
