Follow these steps to keep your tweets private, and you&#8217;ll be all set in no time. This is a useful option if you want to keep followers low and avoid spamming other users&#8217; accounts. However, there are some cons to using a private account.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Protecting_tweets\"><\/span>Protecting tweets<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Whether you want to be private or keep your tweets from being seen by everyone, there are ways to keep your Twitter profile safe. Protecting your tweets will only let people you approve see them. To protect your tweets, you need to follow someone you trust and create a fake Twitter ID. Make sure that they approve the request. If you do not trust the person, you can remove their account from Twitter. If you are unsure of who to follow, you can follow them first.<\/p>\n<p>To make your Tweets public, you can unprotect them. The unprotected Tweets will become accessible to all users. When you&#8217;re not using your Twitter account, you can&#8217;t protect your Tweets, so make sure you don&#8217;t block any users. Alternatively, you can block certain users or delete all protected Tweets. However, you should note that blocking a user doesn&#8217;t guarantee that they won&#8217;t follow you.<\/p>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve protected your tweets, you can restrict who can view them. Protected tweets will only be readable by people who follow you. You can still share screenshots of protected tweets but only with your followers. You can also reject follower requests. Protected tweets won&#8217;t appear in search results. Just make sure to review your pending requests. You&#8217;ll need to check the pending requests to make sure that no one is trying to find your tweets.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Switching_to_a_private_account\"><\/span>Switching to a private account<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Switching to a private Twitter account has several benefits. Unlike the default Twitter account, private accounts can only be viewed by followers. The private version of Twitter also limits your tweets to replies and likes, so others cannot share or re-tweet them. Your tweets will not appear in Google search results, and your replies will only be visible to those who have opted to follow you.<\/p>\n<p>After changing your privacy settings, you should check pending follower requests. If you haven&#8217;t already done so, you should send follower requests to those who are interested in reading your posts. If you haven&#8217;t followed someone, you can unfollow them and re-follow them if you&#8217;d like them to. After a while, your tweets will become public again. Once you change your privacy settings, you&#8217;ll be notified via email when new followers request you.<\/p>\n<p>To switch to a private Twitter account, visit your Twitter profile and sign in. After logging in, click on the More button at the top-right corner. Then, select Settings and click on Privacy, Safety, and Audience. Next, click on the privacy setting for your Twitter account. You&#8217;ll see a box that says &#8216;protect&#8217;. Click on this box, and you&#8217;ll see a lock sign next to your user name.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Restoring_your_account_to_a_public_state\"><\/span>Restoring your account to a public state<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve accidentally deleted your Twitter account, you may wonder whether you can restore it. While this is technically possible, you should not do it without following the Twitter&#8217;s privacy policies. The suspended accounts will remain on the Twitter server but you won&#8217;t be able to access your public profile or tweets.
