While it&#8217;s difficult to find out who owns Twitter, you can find out who is behind the account&#8217;s recent acquisition of the popular microblogging site Tumblr.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Elon_Musk\"><\/span>Elon Musk<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been building a massive stake in Twitter by buying shares of the company. However, it is unclear why he would want to own Twitter, given his wealth from Tesla and SpaceX stock. Musk has also been critical of Twitter&#8217;s moderation policy, which has included banning former President Donald Trump. It is unclear whether the CEO intends to pursue an active stake in the company in the future. Regardless, he&#8217;s clearly very interested in the company.<\/p>\n<p>As of today, the company&#8217;s U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing shows that Musk owns 9.2% of Twitter, while a board seat would increase that to 14.9%. However, if Musk does buy the company, he will only own 14.9% of the company. In addition, it is unclear whether Musk will pursue his own social networking network. However, his company is still likely to face intense competition from Facebook, Google and other big players.<\/p>\n<p>The new ownership is raising concerns among human rights groups. While Twitter has 217 million users daily, it is important that the company doesn&#8217;t turn a blind eye to abusive speech. Otherwise, it may slink back toward the cesspool of hate. Musk might be betting on bringing back those users who left the platform. It will be interesting to see what he plans to do with the platform once it&#8217;s owned by one of the most powerful tech entrepreneurs of our generation.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Jack_Dorsey\"><\/span>Jack Dorsey<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Jack Patrick Dorsey is an American internet entrepreneur, programmer, and philanthropist. He is the co-founder and former CEO of the popular social networking website Twitter. He also founded Block, Inc., a financial payments company, and is a philanthropist. This is a brief biography of Dorsey.<\/p>\n<p>In 1980, Jack Dorsey dropped out of New York State University to start his own business. His company later offered taxi dispatching software over the Internet. This experience inspired him to create Twitter. In 2008, Jack Dorsey was replaced as CEO and began stepping back from the company. He then stepped aside to make room for his successor Jack Williams. He then invested in Foursquare, launched Square payments, and hosted the first Twitter Town Hall.<\/p>\n<p>Dorsey has since stepped away from Twitter and is no longer a member of the company&#8217;s board. His resignation is effective as of November 2021. However, he will remain on the board as a non-employee director until the 2022 annual shareholder meetings. This decision is an unprecedented move for a CEO to make, and it suggests that Twitter needs to get rid of the old guard.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mr_Williams\"><\/span>Mr. Williams<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The late Evan Williams was the founder and first CEO of Twitter. He funded the company himself, and he remains its largest shareholder. He is also the chief architect of the company&#8217;s products and has spent months reworking the website. While Mr. Williams may not be the best at tackling details, he is a master at understanding what Internet users want. Williams is also a good friend of fellow entrepreneur Philip Kaplan, who founded the website Blippy.<\/p>\n<p>The idea behind Twitter was initially a simple one &#8211; a social networking website for friends and family. It was so small that founder Evan Williams often referred to it as ice cream. He described it with awe and wondered if people would use it for business purposes. While he was able to get funding for Twitter, he had no idea how it would grow. He was too busy juggling day-to-day operations and did not plan ahead to expand to an actual office.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all the hype around Twitter, Mr. Williams has a rather rocky personal history. After leaving Google, he wanted to take some time off and pursue other endeavors. After a year or two, he and his neighbor Noah Glass launched Odeo. This company was a huge hit, and Mr. Williams hasn&#8217;t been around long enough to be considered a Silicon Valley darling. In fact, he does not fit the typical Silicon Valley stereotype.
