Facebook has built-in tools that let you change the privacy settings for any photo or video that you&#8217;ve uploaded. Here&#8217;s a quick overview:<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"View_As_feature_on_Facebook\"><\/span>View As feature on Facebook<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve ever wanted to see a private photo on Facebook, but you were afraid to share it because you&#8217;d be too embarrassed to tell the owner, you may be pleasantly surprised by a new feature called &#8220;View As.&#8221; The new feature, which was first introduced in the latest update to Facebook&#8217;s privacy settings, allows you to view private photos on a public profile without revealing the owner&#8217;s name or photo. The new feature is being rolled out slowly, and is still on a waiting list.<\/p>\n<p>While using this feature requires a subscription, it allows you to see any photo shared on Facebook without the owner&#8217;s permission. However, if the person you want to view is a friend, you must add the person first. This is a tedious process, but it&#8217;s worth it to see the photos. It also allows you to see the friends of the person you&#8217;re targeting, which may be useful information if you&#8217;re interested in the person&#8217;s private life.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Editing_privacy_settings_on_Facebook\"><\/span>Editing privacy settings on Facebook<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you want to limit who can see your photos, you can edit the privacy settings on each one individually. Facebook lets users turn on and off face recognition, and it may use the information from your pictures to target ads. By turning face recognition off, you prevent Facebook from picking out your face from a crowd. However, some of your photos are public by default. To turn this off, follow the steps below. If you want to see only your friends&#8217; photos, you can change their privacy settings.<\/p>\n<p>When you edit the privacy settings on Facebook, you can make certain posts private and hide others. You can also make your entire timeline private. To do so, navigate to the Settings &amp; privacy menu on the main Facebook page. Click on Privacy and then choose &#8220;Manage contact options.&#8221; There, you can control who can find and add you to their lists. To limit the number of people you can add to your list, click the Edit button next to &#8220;Send friend requests&#8221; and select the desired restrictions.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hide_tagged_photos_on_Facebook\"><\/span>Hide tagged photos on Facebook<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To hide tagged photos from your timeline, you have to log into Facebook and click on your name. Then, scroll down your timeline to the &#8220;Recent Activity&#8221; box and slide the header labeled &#8220;Tag&#8221; to the right. That&#8217;s it! Your tagged photos are now hidden. If you&#8217;d like to see them again, you can unhide them! Just follow the steps above to do so.<\/p>\n<p>You can also choose to hide tagged photos from the timeline. This will hide the photos, but they will still be visible to your friends. Alternatively, you can untag photos that are inappropriate. Once you&#8217;ve untagged photos from your timeline, you can then re-tag them again. However, be sure to untag photos that you want to keep private. Facebook uses a &#8220;Graph Search&#8221; feature to find tagged photos on your timeline.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Changing_the_audience_of_your_Facebook_album\"><\/span>Changing the audience of your Facebook album<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Changing the audience of your Facebook album is an easy way to hide your photos from the general public. Simply select the three dots in the upper right corner of your photo album and tap Edit. You&#8217;ll see buttons for Friends and Public, but they&#8217;re not necessarily the correct option for you. Select Private, Friends except, or Specific friends, and then click Save. Your photos will no longer be visible to anyone but your closest friends.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to keep photos private from everyone, you can change the audience of your Facebook album to Only me. You can also make your photo album private to anyone, if you want. This option is available under Settings &gt; Sharing. It is also available when you edit an existing album. You can also change the audience of your Facebook album back to Public.
