Follow the steps below to leave a Facebook group. You&#8217;ll be glad you did! In the end, your time is valuable, and the group you&#8217;re in won&#8217;t be a waste of time!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Unfollowing_a_Facebook_group\"><\/span>Unfollowing a Facebook group<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You might be wondering how to unfollow a Facebook group without leaving the group. In fact, the process is a bit similar to leaving a Facebook group. Once you&#8217;ve done this, your account will no longer show up in the group&#8217;s timeline and your notifications will be disabled. To unfollow a group, simply click the triple-dotted icon and confirm your action. This way, you can easily find it again.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve joined a Facebook group but no longer want to participate in discussions, you can unfollow it. Once you&#8217;ve done so, the admins of the group will not be able to see any more posts by the members. However, if you want to know who&#8217;s left the group, you can search for their names. If you can&#8217;t see the people you&#8217;re looking for in the group&#8217;s list, it&#8217;s likely that you&#8217;ve left the group.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Unmuting_a_Facebook_group\"><\/span>Unmuting a Facebook group<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve been feeling annoyed by some members of a Facebook group, you can unmute them. This feature will prevent group members from creating new posts or commenting. All members can do is Like, React, and Share. However, you can still view the group&#8217;s content and reply to comments. In order to unmute members, go to the Group Admin activity log. There, you will see that the members are now muted.<\/p>\n<p>To unmute a Facebook group, you must swipe left on its profile. After you&#8217;ve done this, tap the &#8216;Mute message&#8217; button and tap &#8216;Save&#8217;. Once you&#8217;re done, you&#8217;ll no longer receive notifications from the group. You can also choose how long you want to mute a group. To unmute a group, choose a period of time, such as eight hours or a week.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Editing_your_notification_settings\"><\/span>Editing your notification settings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you are constantly receiving notifications from members of a Facebook group that you no longer want to participate in, you can easily turn off these notifications and leave the group entirely. To change these settings, go to Settings &gt; Notifications. You can also select which groups you want notifications from by switching the toggles to off or on. This way, you will not be notified every time a member replies to your post.<\/p>\n<p>To unfollow a group, go to your notification settings and click on the three-dot icon to open a dropdown menu. Then, click &#8220;Leave group.&#8221; A confirmation window will appear. You can also choose to prevent future group invitations. Once you&#8217;ve unfollowed a group, it won&#8217;t show up in your feed any more. And you can still stay in touch with other members of the group, but you will not get any more notifications from them.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Taking_a_break_from_a_Facebook_group\"><\/span>Taking a break from a Facebook group<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re a member of a Facebook group and you&#8217;re not enjoying your interactions with others, you may want to consider taking a break. This new feature allows you to hide your posts from a person&#8217;s news feed. Once you&#8217;ve taken a break, Facebook will automatically delete any posts you&#8217;ve made before. You can&#8217;t bring them back. You can choose to untag them, which will make it harder to find them later.<\/p>\n<p>Another study found that taking a break from Facebook may increase the benefits of social media. People who logged off of Facebook for at least 7 days showed significantly lower levels of cortisol, a hormone linked to stress. However, people who did not log off of Facebook were not shown to experience a drop in stress levels.
