This feature allows you to filter the content that appears in your news feed by not following certain users. It doesn&#8217;t have any personal or interpersonal consequences. To unfollow someone on Facebook, go to their profile and click on the &#8220;Following&#8221; option. Then, click on the &#8220;Unfollow&#8221; icon at the bottom of the drop-down menu.<\/p>\n<p>You can also unfollow someone on Facebook from a post. To do this, navigate to the post and click on the three dots in the top right corner. Once you click on the &#8220;Unfollow&#8221; button, you&#8217;ll no longer see the posts made by the person you&#8217;ve selected. However, you can also do this from the person&#8217;s profile. In order to unfollow someone on Facebook, you&#8217;ll need access to the person&#8217;s profile page.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to avoid being bombarded by posts by friends or family, you can unfollow them. Facebook&#8217;s algorithm automatically recommends similar posts to yours, so you can avoid these posts from appearing in your news feed. It also frees up time for productive activities. Unfollowing someone on Facebook is a smart way to remove yourself from negative toxicity. It is also a simple way to stop mindless scrolling.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Unmuting\"><\/span>Unmuting<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are a couple of ways to unmute a Facebook user. First, navigate to the profile page of the person you wish to unmute. Then click the three-dotted icon at the bottom of your screen. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and you&#8217;ll see an option to &#8220;snooze&#8221; or &#8220;mute&#8221; the conversation. Tap that button to remove the mute. Facebook has a feature that allows you to mute an individual for as long as 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>If a person posts something that you find annoying, you can click on the mute button next to the post to remove it from your timeline. This option will last 30 days, however. Alternatively, you can choose to unfollow the person and keep them as a friend. Once you&#8217;ve unfollowed them, their posts will no longer appear in your news feed, and you can follow them again. Ultimately, this is a safer option than hurting their feelings.<\/p>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve unmuted someone on Facebook, you can read their posts and messages again. Just remember to choose &#8220;unfollow&#8221; when you&#8217;re done. Facebook&#8217;s default setting won&#8217;t allow you to unfollow someone after 30 days, so if you don&#8217;t like their posts, unfollow them instead. You can also unfollow them in Messenger if they are still active on the site. This will enable you to see their messages again.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Reconnecting\"><\/span>Reconnecting<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Unfollowing or muting someone on Facebook isn&#8217;t as difficult as it sounds. Simply tap on the snooze icon on the person&#8217;s profile page to unmute them. Then, follow them to see their posts again.
