But, before you can do any of these, you must have an account.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Change_Timeline_and_Tagging_settings\"><\/span>Change Timeline and Tagging settings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you want to make your Facebook profile private, you should first change the visibility settings of your Timeline and tags. You can change the visibility to &#8220;public,&#8221; &#8220;friends only,&#8221; &#8220;all&#8221; or even hide certain sections. These settings control who can view your posts, as well as who can tag you in posts. These changes will keep your profile private from people who do not want to view your personal details.<\/p>\n<p>Tagging is a great way to connect with your friends, but if you share too much content, your friends can tag you in inappropriate posts. To prevent this, you can change your settings to manage tagging. To access the tagging settings, go to the Facebook Settings page, then click Timeline and Tagging. You can toggle the &#8220;review&#8221; setting to control whether or not other people can view your posts.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Change_Restricted_Lists\"><\/span>Change Restricted Lists<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To change the restricted list on Facebook, you&#8217;ll need to go to your profile. Click the &#8216;Edit Profile&#8217; button at the top right of your screen, then tap &#8216;Change list&#8217;. Then, select the people you&#8217;d like to keep out of your newsfeed. You can also remove certain friends from the list. Afterward, you can change your restricted list to make it private. By following these simple steps, you&#8217;ll have more control over who can see your updates.<\/p>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve added people to a restricted list, you can keep communicating with them through Facebook messenger, but they won&#8217;t see your posts unless you&#8217;ve explicitly made them public. Facebook&#8217;s restricted list is an effective solution for limiting who sees your content and can even be helpful for privacy reasons. To add friends to your restricted list, simply go to their profile page and click on their name or profile picture.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Block_search_engines_from_listing_your_profile\"><\/span>Block search engines from listing your profile<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can prevent search engines from displaying your profile on their search results pages. Note that this will not prevent people from viewing your public posts or pages. It only prevents search engines from seeing your public posts and pages, however.<\/p>\n<p>To delist your social profile from search engines, go to your Facebook settings and select Privacy. In the Privacy tab, click the blue &#8220;Edit&#8221; button. Next, select &#8220;Block search engines from listing my profile.&#8221; Once this is done, click the &#8220;Close&#8221; button to save your preference. If you have already opted to block search engines from indexing your profile, you don&#8217;t need to worry about them displaying your information.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Make_your_profile_picture_private\"><\/span>Make your profile picture private<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you want to hide your profile picture on Facebook, you can do so by clicking the Done button at the top-right corner of the screen. This will save the privacy settings. However, keep in mind that your profile picture will remain public for anyone tagged in your post. If you want to hide your picture on Facebook, you should first change your current picture. To do this, follow the instructions below. After you have changed your picture, click Done.<\/p>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve done this, your profile picture will be unlickable. This means that people won&#8217;t be able to click it to see the original picture. Likewise, it won&#8217;t be possible for them to download or share it. Instead, they&#8217;ll only see a thumbnail version of your profile picture.
