The first method is to go to your profile and tap the &#8216;More&#8217; option under your profile photo. Once there, click &#8216;Lock Profile&#8217; from the available options. Lastly, you can view the tradeoffs of enabling the lock feature.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Unknown_users_cant_zoom_or_share_your_profile\"><\/span>Unknown users can&#8217;t zoom or share your profile<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>When you share your profile information with a friend, you can lock your cover photo and profile pictures so that only your friends can see them. You can also lock your profile to prevent unknown users from zooming in and viewing your full screen profile pictures. Then, you can permanently block any unknown user from viewing your profile. But don&#8217;t worry. The problem won&#8217;t go away forever, because there are ways to prevent unknown users from seeing your profile.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, May 17, Zoom suffered an unexplained outage that affected thousands of users in the U.S. and the U.K. This outage affected online church services in both countries, as well as the British government&#8217;s daily coronavirus briefing. The only way to fix the problem was to log out of your Zoom account and then log back in. The company&#8217;s status page noted a backend update earlier that day, but there was no link to the outage. Nonetheless, the outage was not the first time Zoom users have suffered an outage.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"People_outside_of_your_friends_list_can_only_see_a_miniature_version_of_your_current_profile\"><\/span>People outside of your friends list can only see a miniature version of your current profile<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>One of the best ways to keep your private information private is to limit the amount of information you let others see about you on Facebook. Unlike the &#8216;private&#8217; friends list, the &#8216;public&#8217; profile is still visible to everyone who is part of your friends list. Facebook also lets you create multiple separate lists of friends. If you want to send the same message to everyone in one list, you can simply choose a single List. Adding more friends to a list also allows you to control what sort of news is presented in your News Feed. Likewise, you can invite all of your friends to the same Group or Event.<\/p>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve added friends, you can also lock your profile to prevent others from viewing it. You can choose the visibility of your &#8216;Friends&#8217; list by selecting &#8220;Friends only&#8221; or &#8220;Friends but not everyone&#8221; from the drop-down menu. By doing this, only people you have chosen to see your &#8216;Friends&#8217; list can see the current profile.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tradeoffs_of_enabling_profile_lock\"><\/span>Tradeoffs of enabling profile lock<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Enabling profile lock in Facebook can have some serious tradeoffs. When you enable profile lock, your content is only visible to people in your Friends list. This means that nobody else can see your profile pictures, photos, or videos, so they can&#8217;t be screenshotted or downloaded. Your About You section will also be limited to those you invite to see them. There are some other drawbacks to enabling profile lock, though.<\/p>\n<p>When you enable profile lock in Facebook, all your public posts will be turned private. However, only your friends and family can see them. You will still be able to send friend requests to friends. This tradeoff may be worth it for you if you want to protect your privacy while maintaining accessibility. But you have to remember that this is only one social network, and other online platforms may be more important. And even if it&#8217;s the best solution for you, there are some tradeoffs to consider before enabling profile lock in Facebook.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Timeline_review\"><\/span>Timeline review<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can secure your profile by locking it, preventing others from viewing your public posts and tags. Locking your profile will limit who can view certain parts of your timeline, as well as what they can see about you in your About information and tag cloud. You can also disable the feature by tapping on Unlock Profile. Locking your profile is useful if you are a member of a public group and don&#8217;t want people to see private information about you.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, there are ways to disable Timeline and tag review, as well as lock down your profile. To disable the feature, open your profile on either desktop or mobile. Scroll down and click on the ellipsis &#8220;&#8230;&#8221; button next to the posts you&#8217;d like to keep private. This will keep only your friends&#8217; posts from being seen. Then, you can lock down your Timeline so that only friends can view it.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tag_review\"><\/span>Tag review<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Changing your privacy settings on Facebook is easy and will make your profile visible to only a select group of people. It can also limit which posts you can view, like your full profile picture and cover photo. Your About info will also be locked to only certain people, but anyone else will still be able to view the other parts of your profile. You can change your privacy settings on Facebook on desktop or mobile.<\/p>\n<p>To lock your profile, visit the official Facebook website and open the account section. Scroll down and click on your name next to the display photo. Next, tap on the row of tabs below your name. Select Lock Profile, and then confirm the change.
