After locking your profile, only your friends can view your posts and photos on your timeline, your full-sized profile picture, and stories. This setting also limits who can see your full-size profile photo and cover photo. Only a small amount of your information will remain publicly visible. To learn how to lock profile in Facebook, follow the steps below.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Privacy_settings\"><\/span>Privacy settings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To protect your Facebook profile, you can lock it. When a friend requests you to become their friend, they cannot view any of your private details. Even your cover photo is locked, so that people outside your friends list cannot view it. You can still send them a friend request, however. Message settings remain unchanged. If you feel unsafe about the privacy of your private information, you can permanently block them from viewing your profile.<\/p>\n<p>To lock your profile, first sign into Facebook using a computer, mobile device, or tablet. After you log in, you&#8217;ll be asked to input your mobile phone number and email address. You can also make any changes to your Facebook privacy settings by going to the &#8220;Privacy&#8221; tab. In the &#8220;General&#8221; section, select the box that says &#8220;Let people know how to contact me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Timeline_review\"><\/span>Timeline review<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;d rather not have other people see what you post on Facebook, you can turn off the Timeline review and lock your profile. When you do, only selected friends can see posts. Your cover photo and full profile picture are visible to friends, but if you want to limit what other people can see, you can choose to block tagged posts. The process of locking your profile is easy and only takes five steps.<\/p>\n<p>When you lock your profile, only friends and family can see it. However, you can still see certain parts of it, including photos and posts that you&#8217;ve approved. By default, this setting is set to Friends, but you can turn it off at any time. This option will disable the tag and timeline reviews. Locking your profile is a good idea if you&#8217;re part of a group or public forum.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tag_review\"><\/span>Tag review<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you want to lock your profile on Facebook, you have two choices. You can either lock it completely or allow only certain people to see your information. Locking your profile completely means that only your friends can see your entire profile. However, it doesn&#8217;t prevent people from searching for you or opening your profile page. People can still send you messages and see your posts on your timeline. The only difference is that if you lock your profile, people can still see a subset of the information on your profile. And if you want to block someone, you can also do that as well.<\/p>\n<p>One way to secure your profile is to lock it. By locking it, your profile is invisible to people outside of your friends, family, and circle. Even if your friends do manage to find your profile, they will be limited to seeing your bio. In addition, your posts and stories from years past will be turned into Friends. If you want to tag someone, you&#8217;ll have to get permission first. If you want to lock your profile, go to Settings &gt; Privacy and Security.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Privacy_of_profile_picture_and_cover_photo\"><\/span>Privacy of profile picture and cover photo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You may be wondering how to view someone&#8217;s private profile if they have locked their cover photo and profile picture. First, you must add the person to your friends list. Once you are logged in, you can view the person&#8217;s profile from the cached version of their profile. You can also search for the person&#8217;s profile on Google and view it in an incognito window. Next, you should right-click on the image, and the full-size photo will open up in a new tab.<\/p>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve completed this process, you&#8217;ll see that the full-size profile picture and cover photo will no longer be visible to anyone except friends and family. Unlike the cover photo, the current profile picture will still be visible to other users, but only as a thumbnail. By turning on the &#8220;friends only&#8221; setting, any existing posts that had public access will be turned into &#8220;friends only&#8221; posts, and only a portion of your About information will be visible to strangers. With the profile picture and cover photo locked, people can only view your current photos and cover photos.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Turning_off_Lock_Your_Profile\"><\/span>Turning off Lock Your Profile<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve set your Facebook privacy settings to &#8220;Friends Only&#8221; or &#8220;Public,&#8221; you should turn off Lock Your Profile in order to ensure that only your friends can see what you&#8217;re up to. This prevents non-friends from seeing your posts, timeline, or photos. You can lock your Facebook profile to prevent the emergence of automatic tagged photos or stories. However, this feature will not work if you&#8217;re in another country or have an incompatible device.<\/p>\n<p>To enable this option, go to the settings of your profile and tap &#8220;Privacy.&#8221; You can also choose whether to share your phone number or email address. Having a mobile phone number is not an option in many countries. However, you can still allow people to see your posts if you choose the limit option.
